BMind Simulator

BMind Simulator is a trial version of a Mind Simulator, which is based on Abhidhamma in Theravadha Buddhism. This is a result of a collaborative project based at the Faculty of Computing, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), Sri Lanka.

Contributors:

Prof. Asoka Karunananda, Faculty of Computing-KDU and University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka

Prof. George Rzevski, The Open University, UK

Prof. Philippe Goldin, University of California, Davis, US

Dr. Subha Fernando and Ms. Harindra R. Fernando, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka

The Simulator is primarily based on the Abhidhamma text “Comprehensive Manual of Abhidhamma” by Bikkhu Bodhi. Abhidhamma defines mind as a flow of thoughts or consciousness (citta), which are characterized by mental factors (cetasika).   This Simulator can be used to modulate various mental factors and to examine formation of thoughts.

This simulator could be useful for psychologists, counselors, meditators, leadership trainers, students/teachers in Dhamma schools, and those who are interested in behaviour of mind in general. The simulator runs on JDK 8u45.
