Drops of Hope

CSR Project by the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences KDU.

A special CSR project was conducted at the Blind School, Ratmalana, as part of the fourth anniversary celebrations of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, on 5th March, 2017.

A blood donation campaign under the theme “Blood of Hop” (Apekshawe Ruhiru Bindu), shramadana campaign, donation of equipment for the use of visually impaired children, and offering of refreshments were conducted parallel to the anniversary celebrations.

As a further gesture of affection  and companionship, an entertaining music concert was organized by the Faculty  of  Allied Health Science  Undergraduates.

Brigadier Indunil Ranasinghe, DVC (Defence) – KDU, Senior Professor Jayantha Ariyarathne, DVC (Academic) – KDU, Colonel WTWG Ihalage, Dean FDSS, Lt Col Ayendra Balasuriya, Dean – AHS, and the Vice Principle of the Blind School were amongst the distinguished guests who participated in this event.

This CSR project which was conducted to ensure the welfare of visually impaired children while entertaining them was organized by the Intake 33 student of AHS.
