How to Become a Library Member


All students and staff wish to use the library are first required to register at the library. A member must have library cards to check out library materials. By submitting the following documents to the membership counter, the registered user of the KDU library are entitled to become a member of the library.

  • Duly completed member application form 

                Application for Staff

                Application for FGS Student

                Application for Cadets/ Day Scholars

  • The receipt of the membership fee paid to the counter(for Day Scholars only)

(*)   -  Only for English and Sinhalese fictions.

(**) – Each FGS student is allowed only the reference facility of the library and if a student wishes to borrow books, he/she has to pay a refundable deposit of Rs.2000.00 per library card (Maximum four cards). The library will issue a library card / library cards for three years initially and library cards automatically expire at the end of the third year.

(***) – Each Day Scholar student is allowed only the reference facility of the library and if a student wishes to borrow books, he/she has to pay a refundable deposit of Rs.2000.00 per library card (Maximum three cards)
