CAN- KDU Track 1.5 Dialogue II on US-Sri Lanka Naval Cooperation

CAN- KDU Track 1.5 Dialogue II on US-Sri Lanka Naval Cooperation was held from 19th to 20th January 2017 at Waikiki Beach Marriot in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Dialogue I conference was held last year in Sri Lanka at KDU. The presentation by Rear Admiral Jagath Ranasinghe, Vice Chancellor, KDU at the inaugural session of Dialogue II, was on “Understanding Sri Lankan and US perspectives of the Indo-Pacific/Indo-Asia-pacific Landscape.”

The Vice Chancellor further chaired a session on the theme, “The Indian Ocean: Challenges and Cooperation.”  The two panelists who spoke during this session were, Ms. Nilanthi Samaranayake, Strategic Studies Analyst at CNA, and Professor Amal Jayawardane, Senior Professor in Defence and Strategic Studies at KDU. The Center for Naval Analyses (CNA) is a research organization for the United States Navy and Marine Corps.
