Brigadier N Hathurusinghe psc IG Hdmc

Brigadier Nanda Hathurusinghe joined the Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet on 25th October 1986 and underwent basic Military training at the Sri Lanka Military Academy and Officers Training School, Pakistan. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on 24th July 1987 and posted to the 4 Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery.

Brigadier Nanda Hathurusinghe received his school education at Isipatana College Colombo. He holds a Degree of Master of Management Studies from University of Osmania – India. In his Military education, he was graduated from the Sri Lanka Army Command and Staff College in 2003. During his Military career he has gained a wealth of experience by attending a large number of local and overseas courses, seminars and workshops in different countries. Brigadier Hathurusinghe during his Military career has served in all the operational areas of North and East in Sri Lanka and held many key appointments and has actively taken part in number of major offensive operations conducted by Sri Lanka Army as a field commander including the Humanitarian Operation in defeating LTTE in May 2009 in different capacities.

Brigadier Hathurusinghe has also served as a Staff Officer and an Instructor in various Headquarters, Institutes and Directorates. Some of the key appointments held in different capacities are Chief Instructor Officer Career Development Centre, Course Officer and Adjutant Officer Cadet Wing Sri Lanka Military Academy, Commanding Officer 11 and 15 artillery, Commander 571 Infantry Brigade at Kilinochchi, Commander 233 Infantry Brigade Vakarai , Brigadier Training Army Training Command (ARTRAC), and Brigadier (Doctrine & Development) Army Training Command (ARTRAC) Diyatalawa.

Brigadier Hathurusinghe is a keen golfer and also the current Chairman of the Sri Lanka Army Golf Committee. He is married and blessed with children a Daughter and Son respectively.
