KDU and NWSDB discuss possibility for collaboration

As a responsible a higher education institution with a motto of ‘motherland forever’ KDU is keen to assist other government and private organizations. It establishes friendly and mutually beneficial collaborations with local entities in a bid to share available resources and knowledge. On an initiative taken by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) to partner with state higher education institutions, a team of senior management and executive staff including the Chairman Mr Nishantha Ranathunga of NWSDB visited KDU on 29th September 2021 for a coordinal discussion to explore the possibilities for collaboration.

Delivering the opening remarks, Vice Chancellor Major General Milinda Peiris stated that “today’s discussion will be a fruitful one to identify mutually beneficial areas to collaborate in-terms of training, internships, research and resource sharing”. Mr. Nishantha Ranathunga, The Chairman, NWSDB, explained the key areas where NWSDB can contribute to build a strong collaboration. Discussions were carried out to realize the possibility of utilizing the new state of the art laboratories and infrastructure facilities established by NWSDB to conduct various high impact research work collaboratively.

Mr. Nishantha Ranatunga, Chairman, Eng. Luxman Ranasinghe, Board Member, Eng. TMRP Thennakoon, Board Member, Eng. Thilina S Wijetunge, General Manager, Dr. (Ms) Wasantha Illangasinghe, Additional General Manager, Eng. S.A. Rasheed, Additional General Manager and Eng. (Ms) Disna Thiranji Pannila, Assistant General Manager (Manpower Development & Training) graced the occasion representing National Water Supply and Drainage Board.
