KDU Invites the Deputy High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka for a Familiarization Visit

Mr. Vinod K. Jacob the Deputy High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, and Mr. Stephen Mani the Political Secretary visited KDU on the 6th October 2020 and held a very positive discussion on a number of matters of mutual interest. KDU organized the visit as part of its initiative to engage with the diplomatic community in Sri Lanka for coordinal understanding and cooperation.
The Vice Chancellor of KDU, Major General MP Peiris welcomed the guests and had a brief discussion in his office before exchanging tokens of appreciation with the guests. He then invited them for a working lunch in historic Walawwa, where they were also joined by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Def & Admin) Brigadier N Hathurusinghe and a group of academics. During the discussion parties discussed the possibility for close cooperation with the academic community in India.
Present on the occasion with the Vice Chancellor were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Def & Admin) of KDU, the Dean Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies Col. Sylvester Perera, the Director International Relations Dr KMGP Premadasa, Dean R&D Prof CL Goonasekara and Dr Harinda Vidanage. Expressing his gratitude for the invitation, Mr Jacob stated that the Indian mission in Sri Lanka is pleased to continue the dialogue to better understand each other’s needs.
