Mess Night of Intake XXXVI

The mess night of Intake 36 was conducted ceremonially on 16th December 2020, at the Officer Cadets’ Mess of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. This event was graced by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Major General Milinda Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil(Ind) as the chief guest. Deputy Vice Chancellor Defence and Administration, Dean Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, Academic Staff, Squadron Commander of Intake 36, Troop Commanders and other Directing Staff also were present.

This was an opportunity for the Officer Cadets whose aspire to be future military leaders, to learn about traditional military customs and values. The Vice Chancellor on his address to the gathering brought out the importance of upholding the military customs, the history of the traditional dinner nights and the current progress of the University and it’s future prospects.

The mess night was organized to mark the completion of the academic tenure of the Officer Cadets of intake 36 who will be leaving for their respective service military academies in January 2021. This was organized under the guidance and supervision of the Dean Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, Squadron Commander of Intake 36 and Troop Commanders.

Mess night of intake 36 was the last event of annual event curriculum of Officer cadets of KDU.
