NMA Midshipmen Visit KDU

Midshipmen of Intake 62 of Naval and Maritime Academy visited KDU on Tuesday (06) as a part of their Annual Educational Tour. LCdr (C) WSS Gunathilaka, the Divisional Officer of Intake 62 along with two Assistance Divisional Officers and Midshipmen who arrived at KDU were warmly welcomed by Col HMGE Herath RSP USP psc, the Dean Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies.

Afterwards, undergraduates were given a comprehensive powerpoint presentation briefing about the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University by the Officer Cadets of Intake 37. The NMA Midshipmen got an opportunity to visit the Anatomy Laboratory of Faculty of Medicine, Engineering Workshops and Laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering and Aeronautical Laboratory. A pre-lunch session was organized at the Cadets’ Mess with the participation of Officers and Cadets from both NMA and KDU which was one of the most delightful interactive events of the day.

The undergraduates got an opportunity to visit Honorable General Sir John Kotelawala Memorial Museum of KDU as the final event of the day’s programme. The NMA Midshipmen departed KDU after having the official photograph with the presence of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Defence & Administration and exchanged mementos to mark their visit to KDU.
